How to Connect Your Social Media Accounts to Influentials

Connecting your social media accounts to Influentials is easy! Before getting started, the most important thing is to make sure your social accounts are set up as professional accounts (creator or business).

Once that’s done, you can connect your socials, grant Influentials the required permissions, and you’re good to go. 🚀

Before You Connect Your Socials

To connect your accounts successfully, please make sure you have the correct account type activated:

  • Instagram: Professional account (Creator or Business)

  • TikTok: Creator or Business account

  • Pinterest: Business account

If your account is currently set up as a personal account, you can switch to a professional account directly through the settings of the relevant social media platform.

You don’t need to create a new social media account — simply changing your existing account type is enough.

Connecting Your Socials to Influentials

Once you’ve activated the correct account type:

  1. Log in to your Influentials account.

  2. Go to your Socials section.

  3. Select the social media platform you would like to connect.

  4. Log in with the corresponding social media account.

  5. Grant Influentials the requested permissions.

  6. Complete the connection.

That’s it! Once the connection has been made successfully, Influentials can start syncing your account information and statistics.

Why do I need to grant permissions?

The permissions allow Influentials to securely retrieve the information needed for the platform, such as your profile information, content and campaign performance.

Influentials will never post content on your behalf or take control of your social media accounts. The connection is used to retrieve the data needed for your creator profile and collaborations.

Connecting Instagram

For Instagram, make sure your account is set to a Professional account — either Creator or Business.

When connecting your Instagram account, simply follow the login steps and approve the requested access.

If your Instagram setup requires a connection through Meta/Facebook, make sure you are logged into the Facebook account associated with your Instagram account and grant the requested permissions during the connection process.

Connecting TikTok

Your TikTok account should be set up as a Creator or Business account.

Once activated, select TikTok within Influentials, log in to your TikTok account and approve the requested permissions.

After that, your TikTok account will be connected to your Influentials profile.

Connecting Pinterest

To connect Pinterest, your Pinterest profile needs to be a Business account.

If you currently have a personal Pinterest account, you can switch it to a Business account in your Pinterest settings.

Once activated, return to Influentials, connect Pinterest and approve the requested permissions.

Why Did My Social Account Disconnect?

Sometimes, a previously connected social media account may become disconnected from Influentials. This is normal and doesn’t necessarily mean there is an issue with your account.

Social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest use security permissions to allow Influentials to access your account data. For security reasons, these permissions may occasionally expire or need to be renewed.

If this happens, simply reconnect your social account through the Socials section of your Influentials profile and approve the requested permissions again.

We recommend checking your connections from time to time, especially when you’re participating in an active campaign, to make sure your data and campaign results can continue to sync correctly.

Having Trouble Connecting?

First, double-check that your account is set to the correct professional account type:

  • Instagram → Creator or Business

  • TikTok → Creator or Business

  • Pinterest → Business

Then try reconnecting your account and make sure you approve all requested permissions.

If you’re reconnecting Instagram and are experiencing issues with the Meta connection, it can also help to remove Influentials from your Facebook Business Integrations and reconnect:

  1. Open your Facebook settings.

  2. Go to Business Integrations.

  3. Remove Influentials.

  4. Return to Influentials.

  5. Connect your Instagram account again and grant the requested permissions.

After Connecting

Once your social account has been successfully connected, it may take a little while for all your statistics and content to appear on Influentials.

As soon as everything has synced, you’re ready to complete your creator profile, apply for campaigns and start collaborating with brands. 🎉
